Diman basketball, Stang hockey scores and results: High school sports

HOLBROOK – Diman’s boys’ basketball team fought tooth and nail throughout Monday’s competition before falling to undefeated Holbrook, 62-4, at Holbrook High School.

Ezra Cote led the way for Diman (0-2) with a high of 13 points. His teammate Dylan Amaral scored nine points.

The Bengals travel to Bourne on Thursday.

BOYS HOCKEY

Bishop Stang 5, Rockland 3

The Spartans opened the season strong, beating Rockland, an out-of-league opponent on the road.

Quinn Pine led Stang (1-0-0) with two goals and two assists. Justin Gouveia scored with one goal and two assists. Nate Moniz and Adyn Simmons also scored a goal in the victory.

Jack Jedrey and Devon Beck each finished with an assist. Brayden Bennett made eight saves in goal for the win.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Bishop Stang 3, Matignon 2

The Lady Spartans opened the season on Saturday with a road victory over Matignon.

Jenna Nogueira, Isabella Batista and Mikayla Brightman each scored goals for Stang (1-0-0). Emily Curran, Kacey Curran, Sam Souza and Kate Plante each garnered assists.

Sophia Babineau made 16 saves in goal for the Spartans.
