Field hockey player Munoz ’25 makes Maccabi USA roster
Hamilton College Becca Munoz ’25 (Weston, Massachusetts / The Rivers School) was selected for the Maccabi USA Open women’s field hockey team, made up of 18 athletes who will compete in the 21st Maccabiah in Israel in July 2022.
The head coach of the team is Hannah Dave and the assistant coach is Jessica Foley. All 18 members of the team play NCAA field hockey, of which 12 are from Division III programs, five from Division I, and one from Division II.
The first Maccabiah was held in 1932 and is traditionally held every four years. In 2017, the Games included nearly 10,000 Jewish athletes from more than 75 countries competing in 40 sports.
Maccabi USA is a non-profit organization that uses sport to build Jewish pride, identity, community, and connection with Israel. It is the official sponsor of the American delegation to the Maccabiah and the Maccabi Youth Games.
Munoz has appeared in five games this year for the Continentals and collected one assist in Hamilton’s 2-1 overtime win at the University of Rochester in the regular season final. The Continentals finished the season 20th in the Division III’s top 20 coaches poll with a 10-6 record, including 5-5 at NESCAC.
