LAHORE – Former international hockey player and former General Secretary of Lahore District Hockey Association (LDHA) Khalid Rasool on Saturday visited the first ever High Performance Tennis Training Camp 2022, which is taking place here in the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah Lahore.
Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) Secretary General Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) along with former international hockey player Naseem Ahmad, top tennis players, their families and tennis enthusiasts welcomed the main guest. He was then presented to the camp participants, who are the top 3 ranked players from different age categories.
Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Rasool hailed the passion and spirit of the young tennis players, calling them the future of Pakistani tennis. “The way Rashid Malik shows passion and dedication to the promotion of tennis, especially at the junior level, is a great example for organizers of tennis and other sports, as if they were starting to follow in his footsteps, other games would also begin to flourish and help take Pakistani sport to new heights.
“Rashid Malik has worked very hard for the betterment of junior tennis and his efforts have begun to pay off as many of his students excel at the ATF and ITF levels. These high performance training camps under the able guidance of coaches top level help youngsters prepare well for big matches, especially international fixtures, where our players have to learn the intricacies of their respective games and earn a good reputation for the country,” he added.
Malik thanked Khalid Rasool for honoring the occasion as the main guest and giving important advice to the players. “Khalid Rasool himself was a good player and professional administrator. The way he guided and gave advice to the top ranked young tennis players, hopefully they will act according to his advice and try to win glories for their homeland. The PLTA Secretary also thanked Tariq Zaman, CEO of Ali Embroidery Mills, for sponsoring the event and hopes he will continue to support this beautiful game.
