Ohio State will face Michigan in Cleveland
The Ohio State men’s hockey team travels to Cleveland to face Michigan.
During the Buckeyes’ 2022-23 schedule rollout on Monday, the team announced it would participate in “Faceoff on the Lake,” playing rival Michigan for the first hockey game ever played at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland on Feb. 16.
“This is a great opportunity for our program,” said Ohio State men’s hockey coach Steve Rohlik. “We are thrilled to have the chance to play in an away rivalry game at the Browns’ home. It is an experience that will create memories for a lifetime.
Ohio State will also face Michigan at Yost Ice Arena on January 13-14 and Schottenstein Center on February 16.
This will be Ohio State’s fourth outdoor game and second against Michigan in Cleveland, having previously met at Progressive Field in January 2012. The Buckeyes also played Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. in 2006 and against Minnesota at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. in 2014.
Tickets for Ohio State’s game with Michigan in Cleveland can be purchased through regular Athletic Department outlets. Season ticket holders will have a special pre-sale opportunity, while Cleveland Browns and Columbus Crew subscribers will have early access to “Faceoff on the Lake” tickets starting at 10 a.m. on August 29.
Ohio State will open the 2022-23 season on the road with a two-game series against Mercyhurst on October 1-2 and a two-game series against Connecticut on October 14-15 before opening its home schedule against Bentley on October 20. october.
