Saints report: CSS hockey scores three unanswered goals in win – Reuters Sports News

St. Scholastica scored three unanswered goals for a 4-1 home win over Wisconsin-Stout in a non-conference men’s hockey game Friday at Mars Lakeview Arena.

A shorthanded goal from Stout made it 1-1 after one period, but the Saints took the lead on goals 25 seconds apart from Tyler Hinterser and Filimon Ledenkov. Karl Wright assisted on both.

Nathan Adrian scored a late goal as the Saints went 2-1 on aggregate. Jack Bostedt made 20 saves for CSS.

Brent Jones had a goal and an assist for the Saints, who host Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday.

Saints finish strong to beat Pointers

St. Scholastica scored three times in the closing stretches of the third period to earn a 6-3 non-conference victory at Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday.

Courtney Leising tied the game for the Pointers 35 seconds into the third and the game was tied 11 minutes into the period before Lauryn Hull’s unassisted goal at 11:43 gave the benefit to CSS for good. Abby Pohlkamp added confidence on the power play 67 seconds later and Rachel Anderson completed the scoring late.

Courtney Bloemke scored twice for the Saints (1-1), who got 31 saves from Lori Huseby.

CSS and UWSP meet on Saturday at Stevens Point.
