The first Cleveland Monsters Outdoor Classic hockey game is set

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Tickets go on sale at noon on Wednesday, October 12 for the first Cleveland Monsters Outdoor Classic hockey game at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Cleveland Monsters and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will play on Saturday, March 4. The puck drop will take place at 1 p.m. between the American Hockey League teams.
The Monsters are affiliated with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL while Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s parent club is the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The game is billed as the first outdoor professional hockey game in Cleveland. The rink will be positioned in the center of the football field, with tickets available in the lower half on both sides of the bowl.
Outdoor hockey has grown in popularity in the NHL, with the league hosting the Nationalized Winter Classic in a stadium near New Year’s Day for more than a dozen years.
