The 2022 IIHF World Juniors are officially underway in Alberta, Canada.
10 teams from around the world have been split into two team groups and are expected to compete until January 5 in pursuit of a gold medal. Although pre-tournament matches have been called off, the 2022 World Junior Tournament kicked off with the first clash between Finland and Germany on Sunday, December 26.
Although they were mandated for a five-day quarantine period upon arrival, a few teams had outbreaks of COVID-19 that forced schedule changes before the tournament. With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases around the world, the Canadian government has put in additional restrictions in an attempt to limit the spread. The tournament will continue unless there is a last minute announcement.
Prior to making the trip to Alberta, Team Canada and Team USA both published their rosters. A full tournament schedule with the results of each match can be found below.
